Ingredients

  • 1 cup long-grain white rice
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Directions

  1. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Stir in the rice and raisins and cook, stirring often, until lightly toasted, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer, covered, for 10 minutes.
  4. Stir in the brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt and cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the heavy cream. Serve warm.
