Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup warm water
2 eggs
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 cup shredded cheese
Directions
In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, and water and mix until a dough forms.
Knead the dough for 5 minutes, then cover with a damp cloth and let rest for 15 minutes.
On a floured surface, roll out the dough to a 1/4” thickness.
Using a biscuit cutter or a knife, cut into circles 2” in diameter.
In the center of each circle, place 1 teaspoon of cheese.
Fold the dough over the cheese and pinch the edges together to seal.
In a large pot of boiling water, add the eggs and vegetable oil.
Carefully drop the Varenyky into the boiling water and cook for 4-5 minutes until they float to the top.
Remove the Varenyky with a slotted spoon and place on a plate lined with a paper towel.
Serve warm with sour cream, if desired.
