Ingredients
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 cup chicken broth
1 cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 pound pearl onions, peeled
2 tablespoons freshly grated Parmesan cheese
Directions
Preheat oven to 350°F.
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the flour and whisk to combine. Cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
Whisk in the chicken broth and heavy cream. Bring to a simmer and cook for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Stir in the salt and pepper. Remove from heat.
In a medium bowl, combine the pearl onions and sauce. Transfer to a 9-inch baking dish.
Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese over the top. Bake for 20 minutes, or until the onions are tender and the sauce is bubbling.
Serve warm.
