Ingredients
- 1 large fennel bulb
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 cup grated cheese (preferably Parmesan)
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh herbs (such as oregano, thyme, or basil)
Directions
- Cut the fennel bulb into thin slices, discarding the core.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the fennel slices and cook, stirring occasionally, until the slices are golden brown and crispy on the edges, about 10 minutes.
- Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Sprinkle the grated cheese over the top and continue cooking until the cheese is melted and bubbly, about 5 minutes.
- Sprinkle with the fresh herbs and serve warm.
