Ingredients

  • 1 pound dried pinto beans, rinsed and picked over for stones
  • 1/2 pound diced ham
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  1. Place the pinto beans, ham, onion, garlic powder, chili powder, cumin, paprika, chicken broth, and salt and pepper in a slow cooker.
  2. Stir to combine.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 7 to 8 hours, or until the beans are tender.
  4. Stir before serving.
