Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease 12 muffin cups or line with paper liners.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in eggs, one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
  5. Gradually beat in the dry ingredients until just blended.
  6. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  7. Spoon batter into prepared muffin cups, filling each about 3/4 full.
  8. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean.
  9. Cool in the pans for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
