Ingredients
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9 inch round cake pan.
- In a large bowl, beat eggs with sugar until light and fluffy. Add melted butter, flour, baking powder and salt. Beat until combined.
- Stir in milk and vanilla extract. Pour batter into the prepared pan.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
- In a small saucepan, combine lemon juice and sugar. Cook over medium heat until sugar is dissolved. Pour over hot cake.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before turning out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
