This American twist on traditional perogies combines creamy mashed potatoes, cheese, and bacon filling wrapped in a tender dough. A perfect dish for family gatherings or cozy nights in, these perogies are sure to become a new favorite.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups of mashed potatoes
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup cooked and crumbled bacon
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1 package of wonton wrappers
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • Sour cream and chopped chives for garnish

Directions

  1. Mix mashed potatoes, cheese, bacon, and green onions in a bowl
  2. Place a spoonful of filling onto a wonton wrapper
  3. Brush edges of wrapper with water and fold over to form a triangle, sealing edges
  4. Boil perogies in salted water for 4-5 minutes or until they float to the top
  5. Remove from water and drain on paper towels
  6. Brush with melted butter and bake in the oven at 350°F for 10 minutes
  7. Serve with sour cream and chopped chives
