2 pounds boneless pork shoulder or pork butt, cut into 1-inch cubes
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 cup low-sodium chicken broth
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon hot sauce
Directions
In a large bowl, combine the pork cubes with the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cumin, chili powder, black pepper, oregano, thyme, red pepper flakes, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Mix until the pork cubes are evenly coated.
In a slow cooker, combine the chicken broth, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce. Add the pork cubes and stir to combine.
Cover and cook on low heat for 6-8 hours or until the pork is very tender.
Uncover and cook on high heat for 15 minutes to reduce the sauce.
Serve the pork with the sauce and your favorite sides.
