Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups pumpkin purée
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, salt, and baking powder.
  3. In a large bowl, beat together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy.
  4. Beat in eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract and pumpkin purée.
  5. Mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  8. Bake for 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean.
  9. Let cool for 10 minutes before removing from the pan.
