  • 1 loaf of panettone or pound cake
  • 1/2 cup cherry preserves
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips

  • 1/4 cup Amaretto liqueur
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Slice the panettone or pound cake into thin slices.
  2. Line a bowl with plastic wrap, leaving an overhang.
  3. Layer the bottom and sides of the bowl with slices of cake, pressing down gently to form a base.
  4. Brush the cake with Amaretto liqueur.
  5. Spread cherry preserves over the cake layer.

  7. Repeat layering with remaining cake slices, Amaretto, cherry preserves, chocolate chips, and pistachios.
  8. Cover the top with overhanging plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.

  10. Remove the zuccotto from the fridge and invert onto a serving plate.
  11. Remove plastic wrap and top with whipped cream.
