Ingredients

  • 3 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 and 1/4 cups warm water
  • 1/4 cup olive oil, divided
  • 3 tomatoes, sliced
  • 1/2 cup pitted black olives, halved
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Directions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt.
  2. Add the warm water and 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Mix until the dough comes together.
  3. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  6. Punch down the dough and transfer it to a greased baking sheet. Gently stretch the dough to fit the baking sheet.

  8. Arrange the tomato slices and olives on top of the dough.
  9. Sprinkle with fresh basil, dried oregano, garlic powder, sea salt, and black pepper.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the tomatoes are tender.
  11. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
