Ingredients
- 2 3/4 cups whole-wheat flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup butter
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup milk
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375 F/190 C. Grease a baking sheet and set aside.
- In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until combined. Add the milk and mix until the dough is soft and pliable.
- Roll out the dough to 1/4 inch thickness on a lightly floured surface. Cut out desired shapes with cookie cutters.
- Place the cut-out cookies on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes until lightly golden. Allow to cool before serving.
