Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 2 cups white sugar
- 4 eggs
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup whipping cream
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
- In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder and salt. Slowly stir the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just blended. Fold in the whipping cream.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 45 to 55 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
