Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. rutabaga, peeled and chopped
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream, optional

Directions

  1. Add the rutabaga and chicken broth to the Instant Pot.
  2. Secure the lid and set the steam valve to sealing. Cook on high pressure for 5 minutes.
  3. Quick release the pressure and open the lid.
  4. Drain off any excess liquid and add the butter. Use a potato masher to mash the rutabaga until it is smooth and creamy.
  5. Taste and adjust the seasoning if desired. Add the cream if using.
