Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 1 can of Spam, diced
  • Oil for frying

Directions

  1. In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Add the water and butter and mix until a thick batter forms.
  3. Add the diced Spam and mix until combined.
  4. In a large skillet over medium heat, add enough oil to cover the bottom of the skillet.
  5. Drop the batter by the tablespoonful into the hot oil and fry for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Flip the puffs over and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  7. Transfer the puffs to a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
  8. Serve warm.
