Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped celery
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups half-and-half cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground white pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup cooked crabmeat, drained and flaked

Directions

  1. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the onion and celery and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

  6. Add the cheese and crabmeat and cook for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the soup is hot.
