1 cup chopped dates
1 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup caramel sauce
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
In a medium bowl, mix together the dates, walnuts, butter, and brown sugar until well blended.
In a separate bowl, beat together the eggs, baking powder, vanilla extract, and salt until light and fluffy.
Add the egg mixture to the date mixture and mix until blended. Slowly add the flour, stirring until just blended.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
