In a medium saucepan, combine the brown sugar, corn syrup, cream, and butter. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture comes to a boil.
Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 8 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the vanilla and pecans. Drop the mixture by tablespoonfuls onto waxed paper.
Let the pralines cool and harden before serving.
