Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour two baking sheets.
In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Gradually stir in the dry ingredients alternately with the milk.
Drop the batter by teaspoonfuls onto the prepared baking sheets. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden brown. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
