Ingredients

  • 1 sheet of frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1/2 cup sun-dried tomatoes, drained and chopped
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Egg wash (1 egg beaten with 1 tablespoon of water)

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface into a rectangle, about 12x10 inches.
  3. Spread the chopped sun-dried tomatoes evenly over the puff pastry.
  4. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese, chopped fresh basil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper over the sun-dried tomatoes.
  5. Starting from one of the longer sides of the pastry, tightly roll it towards the center, creating a log shape.
  6. Repeat the same rolling process with the other longer side until the two rolls meet in the center. Press gently to seal the log.
  7. Brush the top of the log with the egg wash.
  8. Using a sharp knife, slice the log into 1/2-inch thick slices.
  9. Place the slices, cut side facing up, on the prepared baking sheet.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-18 minutes or until golden brown and puffed up.
  11. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
  12. Enjoy the sun-dried tomato palmiers warm or at room temperature.
