Ingredients
- 1/2 pint fresh strawberries
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup mascarpone cheese
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 teaspoon confectioners' sugar
- 1 package ladyfingers
- 1/4 cup Kahlua
Directions
- In a medium saucepan, combine the strawberries, sugar, and water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Allow the mixture to cool completely.
- In a medium bowl, combine the mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, and confectioners' sugar. Beat with an electric mixer on high speed until light and fluffy.
- In a trifle bowl, layer half of the ladyfingers, half of the cooled strawberry mixture, and half of the mascarpone cream mixture. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
- Drizzle the Kahlua over the top of the trifle.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
