Ingredients
- 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1/4 cup of sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 2 tablespoons of butter, melted
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup of milk
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 cup of fresh strawberries, cut into small pieces
- 1/2 cup of heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Mix until well combined.
- In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, egg, milk, and vanilla extract. Slowly add wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in the strawberries and pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 25 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- In a medium bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Add the powdered sugar and continue whipping until combined.
