Ingredients

  • 2 cups turnips, peeled and diced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

Directions

  1. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the cumin seeds and cook until they start to sizzle.
  2. Add the diced turnips and stir to coat with the oil. Cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Add the coriander, turmeric, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt. Stir to combine and cook for another 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add the chopped cilantro and stir to combine. Cook for 1-2 minutes more, or until the turnips are tender.
  5. Serve warm with rice or naan.
