Ingredients

  • 1 pound of bacon
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup of brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup of cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup of maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  1. Cook the bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crisp. Remove the bacon and set aside.
  2. Add the onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Add the brown sugar, cider vinegar, maple syrup, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper. Stir to combine.
  5. Add the cooked bacon back to the skillet and stir to combine.
  6. Simmer the mixture for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture has reduced and thickened.
  7. Season the mixture with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Transfer the bacon jam to a jar and allow it to cool before serving.
