Ingredients
- 1 pound of bacon
- 1 large onion, diced
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup of brown sugar
- 1/4 cup of cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup of maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon of chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of smoked paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
- Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
- Cook the bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crisp. Remove the bacon and set aside.
- Add the onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute.
- Add the brown sugar, cider vinegar, maple syrup, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper. Stir to combine.
- Add the cooked bacon back to the skillet and stir to combine.
- Simmer the mixture for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture has reduced and thickened.
- Season the mixture with salt and pepper to taste.
- Transfer the bacon jam to a jar and allow it to cool before serving.
