Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13 inch pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and 2 cups sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  4. Combine the flour, baking powder, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, and salt; stir into the batter until well blended.
  5. Spread the batter into the prepared pan.
  6. In a small bowl, mix together the 1/2 cup sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon; sprinkle this mixture over the top of the batter.
  7. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the pan comes out clean.
  8. Allow to cool before cutting into bars.
