Ingredients
- 1 lb. green beans, trimmed
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 cups vegetable oil, for frying
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup finely diced cucumber
- 1 tablespoon wasabi paste
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
Directions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Add the milk and whisk until the batter is smooth.
- Add the green beans to the batter and toss to coat.
- Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Carefully add the green beans to the hot oil in batches, frying for 2-3 minutes, or until golden and crisp.
- Remove from the oil with a slotted spoon and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
- In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, cucumber, wasabi paste, lemon juice, and soy sauce.
- Serve the green bean fries with the cucumber wasabi dip.
