Ingredients

  • 1 pound bacon, diced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 pounds collard greens, chopped
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  1. In a large pot over medium-high heat, cook the bacon until it is crisp.
  2. Add the onion and garlic and cook for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Add the collard greens to the pot and stir to combine.
  4. Add the chicken broth and season with salt and pepper.
  5. Cover and reduce the heat to low. Simmer for 25-30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the collard greens are tender.
  6. Serve warm.
