Ingredients
- 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 teaspoon anise extract
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the anise extract.
- In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder and salt. Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture.
- Roll dough into 1 inch balls and place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
