Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) salted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons sugar
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, beat together butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add in vanilla and eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually add in flour mixture and mix until just combined.
- Stir in chocolate chips. Drop dough by heaping tablespoonfuls onto prepared baking sheets, about 2 inches apart. Sprinkle each cookie with a pinch of sugar.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are golden brown. Allow to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
