Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, garlic, Parmesan cheese, parsley, oregano, black pepper, sea salt, and red pepper flakes.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the olive oil and bread crumbs.
  4. Spread the bread crumb mixture onto a large baking sheet.
  5. Form the meat mixture into a log shape on the baking sheet and press the bread crumb mixture onto the log.
  6. Bake for 25 minutes.
  7. Remove the log from the oven and top with the mozzarella cheese and tomato sauce.
  8. Return to the oven and bake for 5 more minutes, or until the cheese is melted.
  9. Slice the meat log and serve.
