Ingredients
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
2 sticks butter, softened

Directions
Preheat oven to 350 F and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Stir in the vanilla extract.
Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
Stir in the buttermilk, food coloring, and vinegar until everything is evenly combined.
Divide the batter evenly between the two prepared cake pans and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Allow the cakes to cool completely before frosting.
In a medium bowl, cream together the butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
Stir in the vanilla extract and enough milk to reach desired consistency.
Spread frosting between the two cake layers and on the top and sides of the cake.
Serve and enjoy!
