Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 1/2 cup cold water
- 1 pound ground pork or beef
- 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons of butter for cooking
Directions
- In a bowl, mix together the flour, salt, and butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Slowly add the cold water to the mixture. Knead the dough until it is smooth and pliable.
- Cover the dough with a damp cloth and set aside for 30 minutes.
- In a large bowl, mix together the ground pork, onion, pepper, nutmeg, and salt.
- Divide the dough into 8 pieces and roll each piece into a circle about 8 inches in diameter.
- Place a tablespoon of the filling in the center of each circle.
- Fold the dough in half and press the edges together to seal the pelmeni.
- Place the pelmeni on a floured baking sheet and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- Heat the butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the pelmeni to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes, turning occasionally, until the pelmeni are golden brown.
- Serve the pelmeni with sour cream and enjoy!
