Ingredients
- 1/2 cup warm milk
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1/4 cup light brown sugar
Directions
- In a large bowl, combine the milk, yeast, and sugar. Stir and let sit for 10 minutes until it's foamy.
- Add the flour, salt, and eggs to the bowl and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for 5 minutes until it's smooth and elastic. Cover the bowl with a damp towel and let the dough rise for one hour.
- In a separate bowl, combine the butter, pumpkin puree, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and brown sugar and mix until combined.
- Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface into a 12-inch by 12-inch square.
- Spread the pumpkin mixture over the dough and roll it up into a log.
- Cut the log into 12 equal pieces and place them in a greased 9-inch round cake pan.
- Cover the pan with a damp towel and let the dough rise for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and bake the brioche for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool for 10 minutes before serving.
