Ingredients
1 cup butter, softened
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup milk

Directions
Preheat oven to 350 F (175 C). Grease and flour a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Mix in flour, milk, and vanilla extract. Beat until just combined.
Pour batter into prepared pan, and bake for 1 hour, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before removing and cooling completely on a wire rack.
