Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F (175 C). Grease and flour a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Mix in flour, milk, and vanilla extract. Beat until just combined.
  5. Pour batter into prepared pan, and bake for 1 hour, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before removing and cooling completely on a wire rack.
