Ingredients

  • For the Dumplings:
  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 2 cups finely shredded cabbage
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 package dumpling wrappers
  • For the Soup:
  • 6 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro (optional)

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, shredded cabbage, green onions, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until everything is evenly combined.
  2. Place a spoonful of the pork mixture in the center of each dumpling wrapper. Fold the wrapper in half and seal the edges by pressing them together with your fingers. Repeat with the remaining dumpling wrappers and filling.
  3. In a large pot, bring the chicken broth and water to a boil. Add the soy sauce, sesame oil, and sliced green onions. Stir well.
  4. Carefully add the dumplings to the boiling broth. Reduce the heat to medium-low and let the dumplings simmer for about 10-12 minutes, or until they are cooked through.
  5. Once the dumplings are cooked, remove the pot from the heat. Ladle the soup into bowls, making sure each bowl gets a good amount of dumplings. Sprinkle some chopped cilantro on top if desired.
  6. Serve the Potsticker Dumpling Soup hot with soy sauce on the side for dipping the dumplings.
