  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 2 cups peeled and chopped peaches
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)


  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugars, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, oil, and buttermilk.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Fold in the peaches and walnuts (if using).
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread into an even layer.
  7. Bake for 40-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
  8. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
