Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups oats
  • 1 cup raisins

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, nutmeg, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  4. Gradually add in the flour mixture and stir until just combined. Stir in the oats and raisins.
  5. Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven, until lightly golden.
  6. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
