Ingredients

  • 1 cup millet, rinsed
  • 3 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts
  • 1/4 cup dried fruit
  • 2 tablespoons coconut cream
  • 1/4 cup fresh fruit, cut into small pieces

Directions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the millet, water, maple syrup, cinnamon, cardamom, and salt.
  2. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Remove from the heat, stir in the chopped nuts and dried fruit, and let sit for 5 minutes.
  4. Spoon the porridge into bowls and top with the coconut cream, fresh fruit, and extra nuts and dried fruit, if desired.
