Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease an 8-by-4-inch loaf pan.
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla extract.
Add mango to the butter mixture, then add the dry ingredients in three additions, beating well after each addition. Stir in walnuts.
Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 40 to 45 minutes, or until a tester inserted into center of loaf comes out clean.
Let cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
Serve warm with butter.
