Ingredients
- 4 thick slices of white bread
- 2 cups of whole milk
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of cardamom powder
- 1/4 cup of slivered almonds
- 1/4 cup of raisins
- 2 tablespoons of ghee
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- Cut the bread slices into triangular pieces and arrange them in a single layer on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 10 minutes until the bread is lightly toasted.
- In a large saucepan, heat the milk, sugar, and cardamom powder over medium heat until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture starts to simmer.
- Add the toasted bread pieces and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove the pan from the heat and transfer the pudding to a serving dish.
- Heat the ghee in a small skillet over medium heat and add the almonds. Fry for 2 minutes, stirring constantly, until the almonds are golden brown.
- Add the raisins and fry for 1 more minute.
- Pour the almond and raisin mixture over the pudding and serve.
