Ingredients

  • 4 thick slices of white bread
  • 2 cups of whole milk
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of cardamom powder
  • 1/4 cup of slivered almonds
  • 1/4 cup of raisins
  • 2 tablespoons of ghee

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Cut the bread slices into triangular pieces and arrange them in a single layer on a baking sheet.
  3. Bake for 10 minutes until the bread is lightly toasted.
  4. In a large saucepan, heat the milk, sugar, and cardamom powder over medium heat until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture starts to simmer.
  5. Add the toasted bread pieces and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Remove the pan from the heat and transfer the pudding to a serving dish.
  7. Heat the ghee in a small skillet over medium heat and add the almonds. Fry for 2 minutes, stirring constantly, until the almonds are golden brown.
  8. Add the raisins and fry for 1 more minute.
  9. Pour the almond and raisin mixture over the pudding and serve.
