Ingredients
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Toppings of your choice (pepperoni, mushrooms, onions, etc.)
Directions
- In a medium bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until the yeast is foamy.
- In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil and stir until a dough forms.
- On a lightly floured surface, knead the dough for a few minutes until it is smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl and cover with a damp cloth. Let the dough rise for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 425°F. Grease a large baking sheet.
- Roll the dough out on the baking sheet to form a 12-inch round.
- Spread the pizza sauce over the dough and top with the mozzarella cheese and your desired toppings.
- Bake for 15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Let cool for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
