Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1/4 cup minced fresh ginger
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
- In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt. In a separate bowl, mix together the oil, egg, milk, molasses, ginger, cinnamon and cloves. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean.
- Let cool before slicing and serving.
