Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt. In a separate bowl, mix together the oil, egg, milk, molasses, ginger, cinnamon and cloves. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean.
Let cool before slicing and serving.
