Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground sausage
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh chives
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 2 packages puff pastry, thawed
- 1 egg, beaten
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and crumbly. Drain fat and transfer sausage to a plate.
- In a medium bowl, combine the cooked sausage, cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, parsley, chives, garlic, salt, pepper, oregano, and thyme. Mix until combined.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out each puff pastry sheet into a 12x12-inch square. Cut each square into four 6-inch squares. Place 1/4 cup of the sausage mixture in the center of each square.
- Fold each square in half and press the edges together to seal. Place turnovers on a large baking sheet.
- Brush the tops of each turnover with the beaten egg. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
