Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon butter, softened
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease an 8-inch round cake pan.
- In a medium bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix together until combined.
- In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the milk and vanilla extract and mix until combined.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and spread evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before turning out onto a cooling rack to cool completely.
