Ingredients
- 4 ripe plantains
- 1/4 cup of olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 1/2 cup of grated cheese
- 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons of ketchup
- 1/2 cup of lettuce, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup of onion, finely diced
- 1 tomato, sliced
- 2 tablespoons of cooking oil
- 4 slices of cooked ham, turkey, or other meat of your choice
Directions
- Peel the plantains and slice them into 1/4-inch thick slices.
- In a medium bowl, mix together the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Add the plantain slices and toss to coat.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the butter and let it melt. Add the coated plantains and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown.
- Divide the cooked plantains into 4 equal piles. Place one pile on each plate and top with the grated cheese.
- In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise and ketchup. Spread the mixture on each plantain slice.
- Top with the lettuce, onion, tomato, and meat of your choice. Serve immediately.
