Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh grapes, washed and de-stemmed

Directions

  1. In a large saucepan, crush the grapes using a potato masher.
  2. Add water and simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Strain the grape mixture through a cheesecloth or fine sieve, collecting the juice in a bowl. Discard the solids.
  4. In a separate saucepan, combine grape juice, sugar, and powdered pectin. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
  5. Boil for 1 minute, then remove from heat.
  6. Skim off any foam that may have formed on top of the jelly mixture.
  7. Pour the hot jelly into sterilized jars, leaving 1/4 inch of headspace at the top.
  8. Seal the jars and process in a water bath canner for 10 minutes.
  9. Remove jars from canner and let cool before storing in a cool, dark place.
  10. Enjoy your homemade rosy grape jelly on toast, biscuits, or as a glaze for meats!
