Ingredients

  • 8 ounces of beef or salmon
  • 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon of Dijon mustard
  • 1 clove of garlic, minced
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 2 cups of mixed salad greens
  • 1/4 cup of cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1/4 cup of shaved Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish

Directions

  1. Using a heart-shaped cookie cutter, cut the beef or salmon into heart shapes. Reserve the trimmings for other use.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Place the beef or salmon hearts in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Let them marinate in the fridge for 15-20 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, wash and dry the mixed salad greens.
  5. Arrange the salad greens on a serving plate in the shape of a heart.
