Ingredients

  • 2 Granny Smith apples, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup (50 g) granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) vegetable oil, for frying

Directions

  1. In a shallow bowl, mix together the sugar and cinnamon.
  2. Coat the apple slices in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  3. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Working in batches, add the coated apple slices to the hot oil and fry for 2-3 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Remove the fried apple slices from the oil and allow to drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
  6. Serve warm, with a dollop of whipped cream or a drizzle of caramel, if desired.
