Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 cups gluten-free flour
  • 1-1/2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons baking soda
  • Coarse salt, for topping

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix together the warm water and butter. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until a smooth dough forms.
  3. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and preheat the oven to 425°F. Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces.
  4. Roll each piece of dough into a rope about 10 inches long. Twist the rope into a pretzel shape and place it on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add the baking soda. Drop the pretzels into the boiling water for 30 seconds.
  6. Remove the pretzels from the water and place them back on the baking sheet. Sprinkle with coarse salt and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. Remove from the oven and let cool before serving.
